• Keep yourself notified with weather updates
• Have an emergency plan just in case a fire occurs
• Add a smoke detector to your quarters
• Keep an eye out for items that can overheat
• Keep an eye on the stove
• Turn off anything that uses electricity such as fans or televisions if leaving the home vacant
• Be careful not to overuse electricity outlets
• If a fire does occur, evacuate as quickly as possible
